Israel continues shelling outskirts of Lebanese town of Hadatha

Israeli occupation forces on Thursday continued their attacks in areas adjacent to the occupied part of south Lebanon. Lebanese security sources said the Israeli artillery on Thursday before noon bombarded the outskirts of Hadatha town, using 155 mm shells. The Israeli shelling also targeted al-Qeseyeh valley.
Meanwhile, Lebanese resistance forces on Thursday morning monitored Israeli fortifications inside the old Beit Yahoun position. Then, resistance forces attacked the position. In a statement, the resistance said that accurate and direct hits were scored.
During September the Lebanese resistance carried out 112 attacks against Israeli occupation positions, patrols of both the Israeli army and the Israeli-allied South Lebanon Army inside the occupied part of south Lebanon. The monthly report released by the Lebanese resistance said that two Israeli soldiers were killed and another four were wounded. It said the number of Israeli soldiers killed from the beginning of this year until the end of September in south Lebanon increased to 98.
During September 17 SLA militia members were killed and another 18 were wounded at the hands of the Lebanese resistance. One SLA member was taken prisoner. So far, since the beginning of this year some 28 militia members were killed and 39 wounded.
Since the beginning of 1998 until the end of September, Lebanese resistance forces have carried out 1,051 operations.
Meanwhile, during the month of September Israeli troops carried out some 102 land, air and naval attacks, wounding seven Lebanese civilians and a Norwegian soldier working within UNIFIL. No Lebanese resistance fighters were killed during September.
Israeli warplanes, meanwhile, carried out 10 air raids against Lebanese territories in the northern part of the occupied zone. The raids targeted the hills and heights of al-Tuffah district to the western Bekaa in eastern Lebanon.
Concerning the Israeli practices aimed at displacing the Lebanese civilians from inside the region, the Israeli occupation forces and their allies last month broke into the villages of Bin Jbeil district -- especially Einata, Markaba, al-Edeseh, Eble al-Saqqi and Marj Youn -- and arrested several citizens and confiscated video systems, cameras and cellular phones, and beat women in Bin Jbeil town.
Following the destruction of the Toumat Neiha position in the eastern part of occupied south Lebanon, the occupation forces reinforced their positions in the eastern sector and established new positions in Markaba, Toumat Neiha and al-Jabal al-Rafee towns.
During September, the April Understanding committee held three meetings to discuss 6 complaints lodged by Lebanon against the occupation forces of Israel.
The Israeli troops and the SLA militia, on the other hand, freed on Wednesday the Lebanese woman Intisar al-Abdullah after she was detained for six months in Khiam camp. The follow-up committee in support of the Lebanese detainees in the Israeli jails said that the Israeli occupation forces still hold three Lebanese women prisoner.
Two women are held in Khiam camp and the third is in Nablus prison in occupied Palestine. The committee called upon international organizations to continue efforts for releasing the three women and all other Lebanese detainees in Israeli jails.
