Morocco prepares for year 2000 computing shift

Moroccan computing authorities are preparing for the year 2000 computer shift to alleviate the shock and impact of such a switch on the functioning of Moroccan banking, finance, bourse and other commercial sectors.
To benefit from foreign countries' experience in the field, Morocco's secretary of state in charge of information technologies, Larbi Ajoul, held recently a meeting with the Canadian ambassador to Morocco, Mark Baily.
The two sides reviewed moves and measures taken by leading countries to address the "Y2K" problem and identified the priority sectors wherein Morocco needs Canadian know-how.
Morocco hosted lately an Arab-African meeting to coordinate actions between Arab and African to face the Y-2000 bug.
