French frigate visits Lattakia today

The French anti-submarine frigate La Mote Pechet today starts a visit to the Syrian port of Lattakia. The visit, which will continue until October 5, falls in the course of a program of visits between Syrian and French naval forces.
The main mission of the French frigate is to fight against submarines. It is 139 meters in length and 14 meters wide. It is equipped with two Lynx helicopters. The frigate is captained by naval Col. Klaval. It has on its board 26 officers and 218 navigators.
The news bulletin published by the French embassy in Damascus said the commander of the frigate will meet during his visit with high-ranking officials in Lattakia.
Friendly sports meetings will be held by Syrian and French teams on October 4. On the same day, October 4, the people of Lattakia can visit the frigate.
