Brussels to host major ethnographic exhibition on Morocco
Morocco-Belgium, Culture, 9/30/1998

Brussels will host starting next October 30 through May 31 a major ethnographic exhibition on Moroccan traditional arts, featuring 700 items at the Royal museum of central Africa which is celebrating its centenary.

The exhibition, entitled splendors of Morocco, seeks to give a general overview of Moroccan rural populations, through their traditional culture and increase interest for the Moroccan culture.

According to an organizer, the exhibition has also a educational aim, mainly targetting new generations of Moroccans living abroad as it invites them to go back to the source of their cultural legacy and better understand this rich civilization.

The seven week-long event will be held on a 1500 square meter area. It features four geographic divisions and a typical market.

Workshops for young people and children, conferences and displays of handcraft, music and cooking will be held to close the event.
