The Yemeni opposition daily Al-Wahdawi said that "limited confrontations" took place in the middle of this month between Saudi and Yemeni forces at the joint borders. These limited confrontations resulted in the death of one Yemeni soldier. The paper did mention the site of the confrontation, but it added that several wounded reported in the lines of the two sides. In another statement to the United Arab Emirates' al-Bayan daily, the Yemeni President said: "Such issues," in reference to border disputes with Saudi Arabia, "can only be sorted out through a political decision."
