Sudan announces general mobilization for fighting
Sudan, Politics, 9/28/1998
Sudan announced yesterday a comprehensive public mobilization throughout the country to confront what it called the Eritrean - Ugandan aggression against Sudan.
The Sudanese government urged in its Cabinet meeting yesterday headed by Sudanese First Vice President Ali Othman Taha all who are capable of carrying weapons to submit themselves to the armed forces' leadership.
This comes at a time when Sudanese Minister of Higher Education Ibrahim Ahmed Omar issued a decision postponing studies in Sudanese universities.
Sudanese television reported that the aim of this step is to enable students to participate in military activities.
