Sudanese opposition leadership to begin Asmara meetings tomorrow
Sudan, Politics, 9/26/1998

The opening session for the meeting of the Democratic National Alliance, leadership of the Sudanese opposition, will begin tomorrow evening in the Eritrean capital, Asmara, in the presence of all the DNA's leaders.

Sources in the conference said the meeting's agenda includes continuing the recent meeting held in Cairo during August and discussing methods of speeding up arrangements for the transitional period, which is not achieved yet.

The sources confirmed that conflicts reported in newspapers between some of the executive body's leaders toward the events of Sudan in recent months will not make the leadership department dismiss the serious issues. It was said that a dispute took place recently between the secretary general of the Democratic National Alliance, Mubarak El-Fadel, and Mansour Khaled, the head of the foreign affairs trusteeship, concerning El-Shifaa pharmaceutical factory, which was shelled by US missiles last month.
