Abdul Meguid to meet with Turkish foreign minister
Regional-Turkey, Politics, 9/26/1998

It is expected that Arab League Secretary-General Esmat Abdul Meguid will meet with Turkish Foreign Minister Ismail Cem on the margin of the United Nation's General Assembly' meetings in New York.

Abdul Meguid will inform Cem about the Arab League Council resolutions urging Ankara to reconsider its military cooperation with Israel and urging Turkey to enter into negotiations with Syria and Iraq to ratify a tripartite agreement regarding fair distribution of water.

The spokesman of the Turkish embassy in Cairo, Wagdi Kadik, told ArabicNews.com today that his country is dealing with each country individually regarding any issue, adding that the visits of Turkish ambassador Yashar Yakin to the Arab League's secretary general are to express the Turkish position.
