Morocco-Cote D'Ivoire, Economics, 9/24/1998
Morocco and Cote D'Ivoire (Ivory Coast) agreed Wednesday to intensify trade exchange and foster contacts between businessmen and the private sectors of the two countries.
In a joint communique released in Rabat at the end of a four-day working visit that prime minister of Cote D'Ivoire paid to Morocco, the two countries noted the sound political ties existing between Rabat and Abidjan and underlined the convergence of their views regarding all issues of common concern on the regional and international scenes.
They urged businessmen in the two countries to enhance partnership to contribute to the development of trade exchange and economic cooperation to the aspired goals. Morocco and Cote D'ivoire stressed the need to update the non-double taxation convention and called for the signing of another accord on the protection of mutual investments.
They also agreed to convene a joint meeting before the end of the current year to identify the products to be exempt from taxes and customs duties.
The two countries sealed Tuesday in Rabat a package of cooperation accords in trade, tourism and agriculture.
