Severe losses from Nile flooding in Sudan

25 persons were killed and 140,000 displaced due to seasonal rains and the Nile's flooding, which Khartoum expects to worsen.
Colonel Wagih Alaa El-Taib from the civil defense administration said that the Nile flooding affected 455 villages, and officials said the flood affected 82 million feddans and caused severe damage to about 325 schools and governmental buildings.
