Morocco, Business, 9/17/1998
Morocco is hosting this Sept.21-22 the first Arab-African regional workshop to discuss the telecommunications and computing problems that will face Arab and African countries in year 2000 as a result of a computer software bug prevalent in many systems.
The workshop, organized by the Moroccan Posts department in cooperation with the International Telecom Union, will enable Arab and African experts to exchange views on the best ways to counter the year 2000 computer problem and coordinate actions to mitigate the shift.
The event seeks to prepare Arab and African countries for the technical, commercial and management challenges to be caused by the year 2000 shift.
