Israel's population count 6 million

The central bureau for statistics on Tuesday in Jerusalem announced that number of the Israeli citizens is estimated at 5.987 million. These include 79.4% Jews, 18.5% Arabs and 2.1% of different origins.
The bureau added that some 2.6 million Israelis live in the Tel Aviv area, representing 44% of the total population. The report added that the majority of the population is from the countries of the former Soviet Union and East European states. These figures were published on the occasion of the Jewish new year, which falls on September 20.
