UNRWA employees in Syria on strike today
Syria, Local, 9/15/1998
Employees at the United Nations Relief and Works Agency (UNRWA) started today a warning protest. The Executive Council for the UNRWA Trade Union in Syria called on its statement for improving the living conditions of all UNRWA employees and Palestinian refugees.
For his part, vice-chairman of the General Federation of Palestinian Teachers, Syria Branch, Ibrahim al-Shehabi, said that the financial policy adopted by the UNRWA in Syria because of a financial deficit had led to a dramatic reduction in the services offered by UNRWA to Palestinian refugees.
