Trade representation calls for the necessity of ready-made clothes in South Africa
Egypt-South Africa, Business, 9/12/1998
An economic study called for the need for Egyptian ready-made clothes in the market of South Africa.
The study set up by the Egyptian trade representation bureau in South Africa, pointed out that the production of South African clothes does not cover the domestic need, as South Africa imports about 60% of its clothing.
The study said the volume of South African imports of ready-made clothes viewed an increase of 15% this year, and the study called on those who produce the ready - made clothes to focus on South Africa instead of Europe that imposes dumping duties on Egyptian products.
The study suggested several methods for promoting the ready-made clothes in South Africa such as participating in the fairs held in South Africa.
