Kuwaiti government retracts increase in gasoline prices
Kuwait, Economics, 9/8/1998
The Kuwaiti government retracted yesterday the hikes in gasoline prices that it had announced, arousing a dispute between high-ranking officials, specifically between the president and his deputy.
The retraction came during the announcement by the Kuwait National Petroleum Co yesterday that it is going to offer lead free gasoline for sale in October. The manager of planning administration in the company, Bader El-Sumait, said in a press statement that the company devoted $185 million to developing the filters and producing lead-free gasoline.
