President al-Assad to meet with Patriarch Sfeir

The London based-weekly "Editors News" quoted a diplomatic source in Lebanon as saying that it is very possible that a lengthy meeting will be held between President Hafez al-Assad and Maronite Patriarch Nasrallah Butros Sfeir during the President's expected visit to Lebanon during November before the end of President Hrawi's term of office.
The source quoted Lebanese spiritual circles, close to the Patriarchy in Bkerki, as saying that the Patriarch has all respect for President al-Assad and his son Basshar. It added that the Patriarch always seeks to bring viewpoints between them together, yet circumstances have so far prevented their meeting up till now.
