Egypt: International conference soon to forward Middle East peace

The Egyptian ambassador to France, Ali Maher, announced that there will be a diplomatic move soon between France and Egypt to make the final formula for preparing to convene an international conference that aims at saving the peace process in the Middle East.
Ambassador Maher said that a joint committee that comprises 10 experts from both sides will be convened within days in Paris to prepare a report in preparation for the conference, determing the participants' nationalities, the agenda, the place, and date of convening the conference to present it to the meeting decided to be held in New York at the end of the current month between the foreign ministers Amr Moussa and Hubert Vedrine on the margin of the meetings of the U.N. General Assembly.
Maher said in statements to ArabicNews.com that there are intensive communications underway with the US administration about convening the conference, and he said that a phone conference was made between the two foreign ministers and US Secretary of State Madeleine Albright tackling the technical and political aspects of convening the conference, guaranteeing its success and achieving its strategic goals.
