Congo President Kabila visits Sudan secretly
Sudan-Congo, Politics, 9/4/1998

Sudanese opposition sources told ArabicNews.com that the president of the Democratic Republic of Congo, Laurent Kabila, visited Khartoum secretly last week, where he met with Sudanese President Omar El-Bashir.

The sources said the visit took a few hours before Kabila headed to Zimbabwe adding that Kabila discussed with Bashir the developments in the Congo. They said the confidentiality of the visit is due to the critical security and political situation in Kinshasa (Congo capital) and its negative effect on the area, especially Sudan.

The sources also said the Sudanese president said that Uganda and Rwanda interfere to support the rebels and that the U.S.A and Israel are behind this interference. The Sudanese president promised Kabila help Kabila end the rebellion, the sources said.
