Switzerland urges Libya to accept to accept British - US demands on Lockerbie
Libya-Switzerland, Politics, 9/3/1998

Switzerland's Foreign Ministry announced that Switzerland has urged Libya to accept US and British demands in delivering the two suspected Libyans for trial in Holland.

The spokesman for the ministry was quoted as saying in statements to the press that Switzerland has expressed its viewpoints on the need to hand over the two Libyans suspected of being involved in the Lockerbie incident to the International Court of Justice in the Hague.

On Friday, Libyan President Moammar Gaddafi refused the British and US demands on the need to hand over the two suspected Libyans immediately.

He accused the two countries of pushing Libya to hand over its two citizens without guarantees. Earlier, the US and Britain proposed to hand over the two Libyans for trial in Holland, according to the Scottish law and by a group of Scottish judges.

The two countries refused to give any guarantees.
