Egyptian flag carrier denies problems in Cairo - Casablanca flight
Egypt-Morocco, Business, 9/2/1998
The Egyptian air company Egypt Air flatly denied a story published by a Moroccan daily, which said there were problems during a Cairo-Casablanca flight.
The company said in a statement to MAP's office in Cairo that the information that there were problems during a flight to Casablanca endangering the lives of 200 passengers is totally "baseless and harmful for the company."
The statement also quoted the flight commander as saying that the trip went on normally, except for some light vibrations which lasted around 5 minutes due to the presence of heavy clouds on the Moroccan-Algerian borders.
The company also denied information that some passengers fainted and affirmed that the landing took place without any incident.
Moroccan daily "Al Alam" reported last week that an Egypt Air flight between Cairo and Casablanca experienced disruptions that caused fainting and vomiting among passengers.
