NAM preparatory meetings expel uninvited Polisario representative

Last Saturday, the preparatory meeting of the Non-Aligned Movement summit expelled a representative of the self-declared "Sahrawi Republic" who had managed to obtain a badge without being formally invited by the movement.
The experts session held in Durban, South Africa, asked the representative to leave the conference room and give back his badge.
The Polisario representative claimed he was invited by South African Foreign Minister Ualfred Nzo. South Africa officially denied having invited anyone from the separatist movement which is claiming sovereignty over the southern Moroccan provinces.
A source at the South African Foreign Ministry told a MAP reporter that his country had been approached by the Polisario, which wanted to be invited, and referred the request to the NAM bureau in New York, the only body entitled to extend invitations.
