Israel escalates aggression against south Lebanon

The Lebanese resistance attacked an Israeli patrol on the Qalaat Shgeif road in al-Nabatieh district early Monday, and soon after, resistance forces attacked Israeli reinforcements, summoned to back the Israeli patrol, in the area surrounding Qalaat Shgeif.

In a statement the resistance said that its forces blocked the reinforcements and inflicted four casualties during a 15-minute battle. The Lebanese resistance forces also attacked Israeli military reinforcementd inside al-Radar position in the occupied part of south Lebanon at 8 a.m. on Monday. In a statement, the resistance said its fighters scored direct hits among members of the Israeli forces. The statement added that a resistance group ambushed a 15-soldier patrol while proceeding toward al-Salawqi valley early on Monday. The statement noted that the group scored several hits against the Israeli forces. An Israeli helicopter was seen transferring the wounded into occupied Palestine. The resistance group returned safely to its base.

Another resistance group detonated a massive explosive charge near an Israeli on foot patrol in the surrounding of al-Debshe position in the occupied part of south Lebanon early Monday morning. Lebanese resistance sources added that the attack resulted in several casualties and fatalities. An Israeli helicopter was seen landing at the operation site to evacuate the wounded. News reports from south Lebanon said that five Israeli soldiers were wounded in the operations.

Further reports said the Israeli occupation forces renewed attacks against areas adjacent to the occupied south Lebanon, particularly Nabatieh and al-Tuffah district. Lebanese security sources said Israeli heavy artillery in the al-Zafatta position shelled Nabatieh city, concentrating on Qaser Ghandour and its surroundings. The shelling covered the al-Rafae mountain, Safi mountain, Mleita, Lweizeh hills, al-Tasse spring area and Litani river area in al-Tuffah district.

Further reports from south Lebanon said that an Israeli military spokesman stated that four Israeli soldiers were wounded as a result of an Israeli military helicopter crash in occupied south Lebanon. The spokesman said the accident took place while the helicopter was trying to land in occupied south Lebanon where it crashed and overturned.
