Strong security measures around US, British and Israeli embassies in Cairo
Egypt, Politics, 8/31/1998
Security sources in the Egyptian Interior Ministry confirmed yesterday to ArabicNews.com that security procedures around the American, British and Israeli embassies in Cairo are extremely tight.
The sources said that the extreme tightening of the procedures is due to the fear of revenge attacks directed at the interests of the three countries in Cairo, due to the U.S. shelling of Sudan and Afghanistan.
The sources referred to preventing large trucks from traveling in the streets surrounding these embassies and said that two soldiers were authorized to control the flow all the cars near the embassies.
