U.N. Security Council approves sanction suspension once Libyans are handed over
Libya-UN, Politics, 8/28/1998
The U.N. Security Council adopted on Thursday a resolution suspending the international sanctions against Libya once the two Libyan suspects are handed over to a special court in The Hague for trial.
The U.N. Security Council imposed international sanctions against Libya in 1992 after Tripoli refused to hand over two Libyan nationals allegedly involved in bombing a Pan Am airliner over the Scottish town of Lockerbie on December 21, 1988.
