Arab arbitration conference to start dealing with concrete trade issues
Regional, Politics, 8/28/1998

Arab League Secretary-General Esmat Abdul Meguid opened the meeting of the general secretariat for the Arab arbitration centers on Thursday at the headquarters of the Chamber of Trade, Industry and Agriculture in Beirut.

The opening ceremony was attended by Lebanese justice minister and chairman of the Lebanese chamber of commerce and industry Adnan Qassar and other related officials from Arab states.

Abdul Meguid said that arbitration is the grounds for settling trade disputes between Arab and foreign states. He told Arab delegates attending a preparatory meeting for an Arab arbitration Conference that the gathering is a step that would bring Arab arbitration centers closer to each other.

The participants in the meeting will discuss Arab arbitration methods and means of revitalizing them.
