More Gulf tourists coming to Jordan

Figures issued by the Jordanian Ministry of Tourism showed an increase in the number of tourists from the Gulf states.
A Jordanian official today told ArabicNews.com that this increase reached 36.2% in the first seven months of this year, while the number of European and US tourists decreased in the same period by nearly 20%.
The official stated that the tourists coming from the Gulf Cooperation Council states numbered 444,000 between January and July 1998, up from 326,000 in the same period last year, among whom are 351,000 Saudi tourists and 51,000 Kuwaitis.
