Italian - Tunisian illegal immigration discussions today

Italian Minister of Interior Georgio Napolitano arrived today in Tunis for an official visit, during which he will hold talks with his Tunisian counterpart Ali El-Shawish and Foreign Minister Said Ben Mostafa that tackle the arrangements to implement the agreement on combating illegal immigration.
The agreement was reached by the Italian - Tunisian joint high committee at the conclusion of its meetings at the beginning of the current month.
Tunisian sources told ArabicNews.com that the meeting will tackle gradually intensifying control of the two countries' joint marine borders as a preventive procedure to stop boats carrying illegal immigrants heading to Italy's southern coast and other Mediterranean areas.
