Jordan: exporting the first gas shipment in the year 2000

Amman Company for Gas will start exporting the first gas shipment of its production in April of 2000.
An official in the company said in press declarations today that so far, "Agreements for exporting 6 million tons of liquid natural gas annually were signed with Asian companies for amounts equal to 90% of the factories' total production capacity."
The manager of the public relations in the company Ahmed El-Sokari told ArabicNews.com that company officials "are currently negotiating with companies in Turkey and other Asian countries to market the remaining quantity, which is nearly 600 thousand tons."
He also said the contract with the Korean company to supply 4.1 million tons annually for 25 years is considered final and is sufficient to guarantee the seriousness of the project.
