Saudi Arabia-Regional-USA, Politics, 8/25/1998
Saudi Arabia expressed concern Monday over the recent terrorist events and stressed the need to fight terrorism within the framework of the United Nations, Saudi Press Agency "SPA" said.
At a meeting chaired by First Deputy Prime Minister Crown Prince Abdullah Ibn Abdul-Aziz, the Saudi Cabinet condemned all forms of terrorism and emphasized that all legal international measures should be taken to combat terrorism and confront those who harbor terrorists.
The Saudi information minister said, "Although the Kingdom condemns the recent bombings of American embassies in Kenya and Tanzania, it still believes that the sole way to combat terrorism should be by means of international action within the framework of the United Nations."
In Cairo, Egyptian President Hosni Mubarak urged on Monday Islamic states to counter the acts of terrorism and rectify the distorted image circulated worldwide of Islam.
