Saudi Arabia, Yemen to reactivate security cooperation

Saudi minister of the Interior Prince Nayef Bin Abdul Aziz received a message on Sunday night from his Yemeni counterpart, Hussein Arab, on means of reactivating security cooperation between the two states.
The message was delivered by Maj. Gen. Yahya Ali al-Omari, chairman of the Yemeni delegation in the committee in charge of following up the security agreement signed between Saudi Arabia and Yemen last year. The Yemeni official is visiting Saudi Arabia to hold talks with Saudi officials to follow up the implementation of items of the security agreements signed between the two sides.
In a statement following the meeting, with Maj. Gen. al-Omari, the Saudi minister said he received in June a message from his Yemeni counterpart. The message said the Yemeni government has ratified the two agreements signed by the two states, the agreement on security cooperation and the cooperation agreement for fighting illegal drug trafficking and smuggling between the two states. The two agreements were also ratified by the Saudi government.
Meanwhile, a Yemeni official source said on Monday that 14 Yemenis died while crossing the borders to Saudi Arabia. The Yemeni official was quoted as saying the bodies of the 14 Yemenis were found during the two past days in a valley in the southern region of Aseer.
The source added that a Saudi -Yemeni joint committee was formed to investigate the causes of death. He did not give more details.
