Afro-Asian People denounces Israeli settlements in the Golan

The president of the Afro-Asian People's Solidarity Committee (AAPSO) has issued a press statement denouncing the Israeli settlement operations in the Golan.

The statement reads: The Israeli government, which leads the occupation in the territories of the Syrian Golan, perpetuates its violation of international norms and conventions. These include the Genera Fourth Convention, the Hague's agreements for 1899 and 1907, international human rights declarations, the international institute on economic, social and cultural rights, the Hague accord for intellectual property protection and all relevant UN and Security Council resolutions.

Israel violates all these charters, resolutions and decisions. Israel is persistent in expanding its settlements in the occupied Syrian Golan Heights. AAPSO condemns the Israeli settlement in the Golan and views it as a big crime in the face of the peace process. It strongly condemns all human rights violations in the Golan and urges Israel to urgently halt its settlement policy and its violation of Syrian citizens' rights.

Further violations would destabilize the region and endanger peace. AAPSO stands firmly in its support of the Syrian government and leadership. It demands all peace loving people and governments to spare no efforts in halting the Israeli racists practices.
