OIC opposes any unilateral anti-terrorist action
Sudan-OIC, Politics, 8/24/1998
The Jeddah-based Organization of Islamic Conference (OIC) called for refraining from any unilateral action outside international legality and stressed the need to step up efforts to fight terrorism through legal means.
In a statement sent to MAP, the secretary-general of the pan-Islamic organization, Azeddine Laraki, said the OIC is following with deep concern the situation created by the American shelling in Sudan and Afghanistan on August 20, 1998, which left a toll of innocent victims.
The organization further expressed support for the complaint lodged by Sudan with the Security Council and for sending an inquiry committee into the shelling of a pharmaceutical factory in Khartoum.
