Air flights increased between Amman and Haifa
Jordan-Israel, Economics, 8/21/1998
Israel on Thursday announced that it will start two additional weekly air flights from Haifa to Amman Airport as of September 20. These are in addition to the six ordinary weekly air flights on the Tel Aviv - Amman line. Israeli radio said the extra flights came to give Israelis the chance to visit Amman where they can spend their vacations.
In another development, Israeli Defense Minister Yitzhak Mordechai spoke on the telephone on Thursday with King Hussein of Jordan who is now being treated at the US Mayo Clinic.
Israeli radio reported that Mordechai briefed the King on late developments in the region and the negotiations with the Palestinians. Israel's Prime Minsiter Netanyahu had also phoned King Hussein several times for the same reason.
