Regional-North Africa, Politics, 8/21/1998
The executive committee of the African Parliamentary Union rejected in its meeting yesterday in Niamey, the capital of Niger, a suggestion from the Moroccan and African delegations to discuss terrorism at the union's meetings, which begin tomorrow, and decided to postpone the discussion until the upcoming conference in Sudan in 1999.
Meanwhile, the representatives of the African parliaments expressed their appreciation for the reports that are to be presented to the conference by the Egyptian delegation about education and housing in Africa and the role of African parliamentarians in preventing and settling disputes.
