Yemeni Socialist Party expresses resentment toward interior minister
Yemen, Local, 8/20/1998
In a press statement to ArabicNews.com, an official of the Yemeni Socialist Party expressed his resentment toward statements by Yemeni Interior Minister Hussein Mohammed Arab concerning a man who carried out an explosion at El-Khabar mosque in Sanaa.
The official in the party's political bureau who wanted to remain anonymous said it has become "a sort of habit that some officials in the government mention the name of the Socialist Party with cause or not in a number of incidents."
The source said that the government has shown its hostile intentions through continuing to abase the Socialist Party which is the opposition party.
Yemen's interior minister said the man accused in the mosque explosion, Mohammed Shamsa, is a member of the Socialist Party, and the minister accused him of placing a bomb in the mosque aimed at creating instability in the country in return for $100,000.
