Program ratified for restructuring Tunisian banking system

A Tunisian committee under the chairmanship of the Tunisian Central Bank's governor ratified a long-term program for developing the banking and financial systems by the year 2010 in association with the European Union.
An official press statement said that restructuring the banking system to face anticipated competition after implementing the general agreement for financial services signed between Tunis and the European Union within the partnership agreements between the two parties, which include the most important means of developing this sector.
