King Hassan grants pardon to 984 prisoners

King Hassan II of Morocco granted free pardon to 984 prisoners on the occasion of the Revolution of the King and the People, which marks the forced exile by French colonial authorities of the late King Mohammed V.
A statement from the Justice Ministry says 719 prisoners were pardoned from serving the rest of their prison sentences while 213 others had the rest of their prison sentences reduced.
Another three inmates had their life imprisonment sentences reduced to limited prison terms and 38 others benefitted from a reduction of their prison sentences and the maintaining of the fine.
The king of Morocco grants free pardon to prisoners on the occasion of each religious and national feast.
