A message from Yemeni President to Sultan Qaboos
Oman-Yemen, Politics, 8/19/1998

Oman News Agency said on Tuesday that the Omani minister for foreign affairs, Youssef Bin Alawi Bin Abdullah, on Tuesday discussed with his Yemeni counterpart, Abdul Qader Bajmal, means of strengthening bilateral relations and other issues of mutual concern.

Bajmal had arrived earlier in the day in Sallalah, 1,000 km south of Muscat, the summer residence for Sultan Qaboos Bin Saeed, carrying a message from Yemeni President Ali Abdullah Saleh to Omani leader.

During July, Sanaa objected at the Arab League against Saudi Arabia which opposed border demarcation between Yemen and Oman because such a process prohibits Saudi Arabia from having an outlet on al-Arab sea which the two countries's shores overlook in the south.

Oman reiterated that the border demarcation agreements it signed with Saudi Arabia in 1990 and with Yemen in 1992 are correct, MENA reported.
