Sudan denies OAU was told Egypt interfered in Sudanese affairs
Sudan, Politics, 8/18/1998

Sudan negated that the Organization of African Unity has been informed about Egyptian interference in its interior affairs, as last week Egypt hosted the meetings of the allied Sudanese opposition.

Sudanese sources told ArabicNews.com that the Sudanese Foreign Minister Mustafa Osman Ismael conveyed to the Egyptian Foreign Ministry an oral message from the Sudanese ambassador in Cairo, Ahmed Abd El-Hamlim during his meeting with Egypt's assistant foreign minister for Sudanese affairs, Yousef Omar.

The sources said that Sudan's message said it will not resort to the OAU, as it settles its disputes through bilateral meetings and open dialogue between Egypt and Sudan.

The sources also confirmed that the leadership of the Sudanese opposition will continue its meetings in the Eritrean capital Asmara on August 27, to complete the points which are not yet resolved concerning their struggle and fighting, as the Nation's party refuses to obtain authority by violence and power.
