Algerian forces kill extremist leader

The Algerian daily Liberte said on Sunday that security forces killed Balqati Rabah, one of the leaders of the Armed Islamic Group, accused of being involved in massacres which have claimed the lives of thousands of Algerian civilians.
The paper added that Rabah was gunned down on Friday at his home, while making a secret visit to his family in Remshe district in Telmesan province, 440 km west of Algiers. Other Algerian dailies reported that one person was killed and another ten were killed in a bomb explosion in Sedi Rashid cemetery west of the capital Algiers.
