Spanish government supports improving immigrants living conditions

The Spanish government and opposition agreed on reforming a law to improve the stay and work conditions of immigrants in Spain, a Spanish daily reports.
Spain's industry minister and spokesman of the government, Joseph Pique, announced the government's plans to revise the implementation of this law, mainly in view of the latest incidents in which several persons trying to illegally enter Spain died in the Strait of Gibraltar.
According to a Spanish official, the new law is expected to promote the social integration of foreign workers.
The draft amendment to be submitted for parliament's approval includes provisions related to health, security, and education of immigrants in Spain.
