Lebanon opens its embassy in Baghdad

Iraqi sources in Cairo announced yesterday that Lebanon decided to open its closed embassy in Baghdad starting from September 1 by sending employees to start work and administrative, commercial procedures, so that the necessary crew for administrating the embassy will be able to resume activity in about three months.
Lebanon severed its diplomatic relations with Iraq after the assassination of an Iraqi opposition member in Beirut in 1994.
