King Fahd undergoes successful surgery

The Saudi Royal court on Wednesday said that King Fahd Bin Abdul Aziz has undergone surgery to remove his gall bladder, carried out by a US surgeon after consultations with specialized doctors from Britain, Germany, France and the US.
A statement from the Royal court that the King is in excellent condition. The statement added that US surgeon Ted Pappas from Duke University carried out the operation together with a Saudi medical team. King Fahd (75) was admitted to King Faisal specialised hospital in Riyadh on August 2.
