Yemeni government approves draft law on allowing demonstrations

In its weekly meeting under the leadership of Yemeni Prime Minister Abdul Karim al-Iryani, the Yemeni government approved yesterday of a draft law on organizing demonstrations, marches and gatherings, after which the law was presented to the Yemeni parliament for its discussion and ratification.
Political sources said that the law dictates conditions for the approval of demonstrations by political groups. One of these conditions is to receive permission from the security forces.
Yemeni opposition sources today told ArabicNews.com that this law is just a calmative for the tensions between the Yemeni tribes and different political movements.
