Moroccan athletes excel at Monaco meet

Moroccan field and track star Hicham El-Guerrouj has enhanced his chances for bagging the one million dollar IAAF-jackpot after winning Sunday the 1500 m race of the Monaco meet.
El-Guerrouj won the race clocking in at 3:28.37, beating out three Kenyan rivals: Laban Rotich, Noah Ngency and John Kibowen.
In the women's 400-m hurdles, Moroccan Nazha Bedouane ranked second clocking 53.23 behind American Kim Batten, while Moroccan Brahim Lahlafi finished 4th in the 3000 m race which was captured by Ethiopian middle-distance world champ, Haile Gibrelessassi.
