Mobile phone service resumes in Yemen

Yemen announced yesterday the return of mobile phone service after the service was halted for a few weeks at the governments' command to prevent demonstrators from phoning each other after the beginning of demonstrations in objection of the increased price on some commodities in June.
52 persons were killed and 20 were injured in the demonstrations. The company responsible for Yemen's mobil phone service confirmed that the government has suspended the service twice for security reasons since it was first activated in 1992.
