U.S. giving 3,800 visas to Egyptian citizens

Consular sources in the US embassy at Cairo said that they are giving 3,800 visas to Egyptian citizens annually for immigration.
The sources said that the number of Egyptians who have immigrated to the U.S.A since 1995 reached about 15 thousand. It also added that about 1,850 Egyptian citizens have obtained visas for immigration to the U.S. since the beginning of the current year.
It is said that these statements come within the context of announcing the Diversity Lottery 2000 visa program for those who desire immigration to the U.S.A., which includes the acceptance of 50,000 immigrants annually.
This program has certain requirements for candidates for immigration to the U.S. in all what concerns with the experience, education, for all those who apply, to immigration who come from countries that have the right to benefit from program, and applicants "should have either a high school education or its equivalent, or within the past five years have two years of work experience in an occupation that requires at least two years of training or experience," a State Department press release said.
No application fee is required to enter the lottery, and there is no special form to fill out. Only one entry may be submitted per applicant. The entry period is open only from October 1, 1998 - October 31, 1998. Only winners are notified, with notification coming between April and July 1999.
