Egypt delivers Albright explanation of French - Egyptian initiative
Egypt-USA, Politics, 8/8/1998

Egyptian sources told ArabicNews.com that Egypt delivered a written message to US Secretary of State Madeleine Albright that explains the idea of the French - Egyptian initiative to rescue the peace process in the Middle East and push it forward.

The source said the message was delivered by Egypt's ambassador in Washington, Ahmed Maher.

The message said that the French - Egyptian work group will formulate in the near future the details concerning the conference in consultation and coordination with all the effective powers, among which is the U.S.

The sources added that, "The U.S.A shows currently reservation toward the initiative because if it currently agrees that will mean a public confession that its initiative has failed."
