Yemen examines Ethiopian extradition request for five opposition members

The Yemeni authorities are currently examining an extradition request presented by Ethiopia for five members of the Oromo Liberation Front who oppose the regime by the in Ethiopia, and who are being detained by the Yemeni authorities after they snuck into Yemen three months earlier.

Yemeni sources told ArabicNews.com that the Yemeni authorities are examining the Ethiopian request, and said they expect Yemen will accept this demand and hand over 20 opposition members due to the strong relations between Yemen and Ethiopia.

In this context, a Yemeni security source denied his country's intention to extradite Ethiopian Moslem members of the Oromo Liberation Front to the Ethiopian authorities, saying that this number of Oromo members does not exist in the Yemeni prisons, adding that Yemen refuses to allow any terrorist or wanted person into its territories and said that if it discovered their presence, it would detain them immediately and make them choose between expulsion to any country or return them to their homelands.
