Egyptian trade minister calls for increased exports to COMESA countries

Ahmed Goweili, the Egyptian minister of trade and supply, urged businessmen and investors to work on increasing their exports to the countries belonging to the Common Market for Eastern and Southern Africa (COMESA), after Egypt's official admission to the the group.
The Egyptian minister said that the businessmen must benefit from reduced customs fees among the group's countries reaching to the establishment of a free trade zone in 2004.
Hamdi Salem, the chief of the executive body of the center for developing Egyptian exports, said that the center is currently arranging to send a basic mission to some the African COMESA member countries during the last quarter of this year and developing commercial relations between the two sides.
